Jo graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 with a dual degree in Commerce and Business management. Whilst completing her degree, Jo worked with Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy as a part time administrator. After graduating, she went on to gain valuable experience in both her majors of accounting and marketing, in Brisbane accounting and property firms.
In 2011, Jo moved to London to work, and to pursue her love for travelling. Whilst living and working in London, Jo also played elite netball, representing Surrey Storm in the UK Netball Super league.
After returning home to Australia in 2013, Jo rejoined the Active Rehabilitation administration team part time whilst completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the Australian Catholic University.
