ABOUT US

Active Rehabilitation Physiotherapy is a private practice based at the Mater Private Hospital in South Brisbane.  We service in-patients in the Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, Mater Centre for Neurosciences, Mater Private Hospital Springfield and Brisbane Private Hospitals, as well as outpatients in our on-site rooms at the Mater Medical Centre South Brisbane and our practices at Annerley and Brookwater.

You will join a team of over fifty physiotherapists who practice in the areas of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurology, haematology/oncology, ICU, gerontology, vestibular, children's continence, men's and women's health, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.  Physiotherapists within the team also provide services in extended scope areas of practice, including clinics in collaboration with some of Brisbane's top Medical Specialists. Active continues to provide full-time clinical education for final year physiotherapy students, in association with the University of Queensland.

YOUR NEW POSITION

Active is offering unique positions to Graduate Physiotherapists in 2018.  Full-time positions are permanent roles and include participation in a weekend and public holiday roster.

Your Graduate Position will commence in early 2018 (Bond University Students are still encouraged to apply).

 

Hospital Full-time Rotation Position

You will primarily be based within the Mater Private Hospital.  Throughout your new graduate year, experience will be offered across the range of medical, surgical and specialist wards.  As you become more experienced, opportunities may arise for you to co-ordinate hospital work with outpatients, exercise/education classes.

 

Hospital Weekend/Casual Position

You will join a team of weekend and public holiday physiotherapists providing hospital-based physiotherapy.  As a team, services are provided to all wards of the Mater Private Hospital on a rotation basis.

Graduate physiotherapists who intend to continue studying full-time are encouraged to apply: our casual team includes physiotherapists who are studying medicine and other degrees, PhDs and parents working part-time.

Weekend work is scheduled on an 8-week rotating roster and according to an agreed ratio (minimum of 2 weekends in the 8-week cycle). Weekend rosters are planned well in advance and often involve working both Saturday and Sunday. When applying, please indicate your preferred number of weekends in each 8-week cycle.

 

SUPPORT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

You will be supported by a highly qualified physiotherapy and administration team, an in-service program and assistance with continuing education.  Training and career mentoring will be provided by experienced Physiotherapists and the Leadership Team.  It is our philosophy to support and develop career pathways within the Practice, recognising individuals' strengths and interests.  Some flexibility in hours may be accommodated for work/life balance.

Your application must be submitted before midnight on Saturday 30 September 2017.

Applications will only be accepted for Physiotherapists who satisfy requirements for full registration with APRHA.

Applications must include:

  1. A cover letter of 1 or 2 pages (no more), including an indication of your short and long term goals
  1. Your Curriculum Vitae, including the names and contact details of three referees who will comment on your clinical and/or work performance
  2. A copy of your academic results to date
