As our Neurosciences Team Leader, Marty has a wealth of experience in all areas of inpatient rehabilitation and provides support and clinical mentoring for Active Rehab physiotherapists. He also works as part of Active’s Clinical Education team supporting final year physiotherapy students from UQ.

Marty has developed long-standing relationships with many of Brisbane’s top Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is highly trained in providing tailored treatments, post-surgery care and rehabilitation programs that support a successful recovery.

Marty works as part of our specialty Men’s Health team, supporting patients through urinary incontinence and pre- and post-prostate surgery. Marty has a gentle and caring approach, and is very sensitive to the comfort and needs of his patients.

Prior to returning to university as a mature-age student to gain his Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Marty had many years of work in political science and public policy organisations. He has experience as an academic and researcher, completing a PhD in Political Science and International Relations.

Marty loves being part of the Active Rehab team as “we share the same values and work positively and proactively together to achieve the best patient outcomes.”

He enjoys playing table tennis, going to the beach and bushwalking with his sons.

Marty’s favourite quote is:

“He who has a why to live, can bear almost any how.” – Friedrich Nietzsche
