Brent Richards

Areas of Clinical Practice:

Brent is a Senior Outpatients Physiotherapist and working in the areas of musculoskeletal, sports and orthopaedic physiotherapy. He holds a dual role as the Team Leader for our Brookwater practice, and as our Senior Orthopaedic Inpatients Physiotherapist at the Mater Private Hospital Springfield. This dual role allows Brent to offer his patients the unique ability to support their rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery from the bedside post-operatively, right through to supporting a full return to their activities or sports through our outpatient practice.

Brent has a special interest in treating pre- and post-operative orthopaedic surgical patients, as well as the treatment of musculoskeletal and sporting injuries. He has experience treating a range of athletes including Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes, and as the team physiotherapist for the senior Easts Rugby League Football Club. He has undertaken advanced training in Dry Needling, which he uses to compliment his hands-on and exercise-based treatments. Brent has also been trained in assessment and treatment of vestibular disorders.

Working with hospital inpatients, Brent has extensive physiotherapy experience working in the areas of pre-operative and post-operative orthopaedic surgery, neurosurgery, general surgery and intensive care.

Brent graduated from the University of Queensland in 2008 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy, receiving a Dean’s Commendation for academic achievement during his studies.

In his free time Brent enjoys spending as much time as possible with his young family.
