Jessica joined our Active Rehab Physiotherapy team in 2019. She works as part of our hospital physiotherapy team, with a particular interest in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, and women’s health and continence. Jess is passionate about advocating for the safety, rights, and dignity of all patients by providing exceptional and holistic care based on the best available evidence.
Jessica graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy with Honours from the University of Queensland, where she received the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence and was selected to represent the university on an international student placement in Timor-Leste. Previously, Jessica was a sports trainer and first aid provider for senior women’s AFL, as well as other junior and senior football teams. Jessica also has a passion for rehabilitation of the elderly , which led her to work with aged care services in coordinating and instructing strength and balance programs for falls prevention.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys being involved in the community. She has volunteered with the Brisbane Paralympic Football Program, with Queensland Rehabilitation services as a community visitor in a local aged care home, and with Enoggera Baptist Church as a leader of the young children’s ministry.
Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as staying active through hiking, and playing netball and squash.
